On 20th of February from 17.00 to 18.30 EEST (16:00 - 17:30 CET) will take place a webinar, titled "Is There Wilderness in Europe?". The webinar will be held in zoom platform and is free of charge. Registration is required, follow the link to join: https://zoom.us/meeting/register/vJwrfuqhpzoidlPbm_qE2f5lSPV6-FyVIA
Have you ever wondered what is Wilderness, does it still exists in Europe and what does it take to protect it? While there is a common European Wilderness Definition in place, many Europeans might not have a clear idea what Wilderness really means and what characterises Wilderness. In several languages, the word Wilderness has a negative connotation and is perceived as ‘chaotic’ or ‘messy’. On the other hand, Wilderness can be seen as a place where people do not intervene with nature, benefiting natural processes and developments. Therefore, Wilderness in Europe, its definition, certification and stewardship raise numerous questions.
