Green jobs along the European Green Belt
In early November, a BBF team participated in a Green Belt conference in Ulcinj, Montenegro, with representatives from 22 European countries. The idea was to present the first 11 projects selected within the framework of the BestBelt project to all other participants. Among the projects was the Bulgarian one for fountains study in the municipality of Topolovgrad, in which BBF is a partner.

Take a look at the pilot areas of SaveGREEN project
Although important for many areas of life and especially for the protection of biological diversity, eco-corridors are threatened by the lack of adequate economic development planning. They are crossed and interrupted by linear transport infrastructure activities, urban development, intensive agriculture, inappropriate forest and water management. Transport is often the cause of wildlife deaths and reduces the numbers and reproductive success of key biological species, as well as the efficiency of the ecosystem services on which we all depend.

SaveGREEN introduces a new mobile application
A new Qfield mobile application was developed under the SaveGREEN project. QField is an open source base application developed by OPENGIS.ch and allows users to set up QGIS maps and forms on their workstations and use them in the field through the QField application. It is a useful tool for anyone who wants to do wildlife monitoring through their mobile phone.

SaveGREEN - Presents monitoring results on wildlife-crossing facilities to Bulgarian regional and national media

The Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation (BBF), Black Sea NGO Network (BSNN) and the South-West State Enterprise (SWSE) organised a field trip for regional and national media to present conclusions and recommendations based on the monitoring of wildlife crossing facilities along Lot 1 of the Struma Motorway, part of the SaveGREEN project pilot area in south-west Bulgaria.

SaveGREEN transnational experience exchange workshop for Pilot Area Rila Verila Kraishte
Transnational experience exchange workshop on the SaveGREEN project will be held from May 11 to 12 in Rila Hotel, Dupnitsa. HOW TO DEVELOP BIRDWATCHING TOURISM?
"Birdwatching" is "observation for the enjoyment of wild birds in their natural habitat". The term comes from the English words "bird" and "watching". Every novice translator will define it as "bird watching", but for better or worse, there is no such word in the Bulgarian language.
